New Additions on Campus

At the beginning of the summer we had the joy of seeing the Lord add 40 new boys to the CFI family. This now makes 181 boys living on campus - plus an additional 16 boys training at Grace Bible College in Amravati and 3 boys training at Prakash Institute in Nagpur. New sponsors are needed for these 40 new boys. Would you be willing to invest in a young life being trained to serve Jesus in India?

In addition to this, God has given us more staff workers. We now have new house parents, a campus nurse, 2 matrons, 2 watchmen, 2 helpers and 1 teacher. PLEASE PRAY - we still have a huge need for an Assistant Director to manage many important responsibilities and take a very heavy load off of the General Director.

The Lord continues to enrich the CFI family by giving us so many amazing blessings!

A Dear Loss

On February 2, 2015 our dear friend and colleague Pradeep went home to be with the Lord.  Pradeep and his wife Meena have worked for CFI for the past 5 years as houseparents.  Their daughter Prarthana is 5 years old and their son Moses just recently turned 1.  Pradeep loved Jesus and had committed his life to serve Him.  We grieve with his family as well as all the boys and staff at CFI.  Although we mourn, we have a joy in knowing he is with his dear Savior. Please continue to pray for Meena and their children.  We will miss you dearly Pradeep.

Boys On Break

The boys are currently on break from school for 10 days.  This break is because of Diwali which is also known as the Festival of Lights.  This is an important holiday for Hindus and it signifies victory over darkness, evil, ignorance and despair.  The majority of people in India are Hindus and we know that our boys at CFI are so blessed to have the opportunity to learn about Jesus.  They know the truth about how to have victory over darkness.  Our little campus is a light in the darkness of India.

Our New Assistant Director

We would like you all to welcome our new Assistant Director, Vaibhav Joseph Bijorikar to the team!  We are so excited to have him on board to share in the vision and mission of CFI.  He was born in Maharashtra and grew up in a Christian family.  Although outwardly he seemed to be living the Christian life, inwardly he was dealing with personal issues and struggles.  While battling depression he decided to open up his Bible and he opened up to Psalms 51 was impacted immediately.  This was how his life was transformed and he decided to pursue his education.  He completed his Bachelor of Theology at Maharashtra Bible College and eventually ended up working there as well.  Then he went to Jubilee Memorial Bible College in Chennai and received his Master of Divinity.  He was appointment the Coordinator for Communication in Compassion for India in Rajasthan.  Then he saw a need at CFI and has since joined our team.  His dream is to build strong leaders for the future and for the Lord.  He is excited to teach and to encourage the staff and boys here.  We are excited to see how the Lord works in him and in the lives of the children at CFI.

Easter For The Boys

It is tradition for our boys to go into town each year for Palm Sunday and Easter.  On Palm Sunday they all marched through the streets waiving their palm branches while singing songs and shouting their memorized Scripture verses.  On Easter Sunday our boys went into town again and with great joy declared in their loudest voices, "Christ is risen!"  They also sang songs of praise and recited Bible verses.  What a wonderful sight to see! They are little lights with big voices in a very dark area.  Praise God for their declarations of faith and the love they are displaying to the community around them.

"O Death, Where Is Your Victory?"

“Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory?  O death, where is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:55-58

Happy Easter friends!  Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is risen today!  What a joyful and glorious occasion to celebrate! We serve a living Savior who has victory over the grave and has defeated sin.  Let us look to Jesus, our precious Lamb, who died and rose again!

Like A Lamb That Is Led To The Slaughter

But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.

Isaiah 53:5-9

What a sacrifice Jesus made for us whom He lovingly calls His children.  There is only One who took on all our sin, pain and sorrows as His own.  The Son of God was "like a lamb that is led to the slaughter." Through His love and sacrifice for us, we are now heirs to the Mighty and Living God!  What an undeserving and grant love He has lavished on His children. All praise and glory to our Savior Jesus Christ!

God Made A Way!

For the last 7 years we have been continually praying that we could open up a school on our CFI campus.  For 7 years we could  not obtain the permission from the government to do so.  This past year our prayers were finally answered when the government granted our request!  Now our boys who are in Kindergarden and the First grade are able to study in our school.  In June when the new school year starts, we will be adding the Second grade as well.  This is very exciting news for all of us! We are currently looking for Christian teachers to join our school staff. Please pray for the right godly men and women who will truly care for our boys academically and spiritually as they point them to Christ.  We are so joyful and thankful to God who always makes a way!

A Need For House Parents

There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into taking care of 170 little boys.  From the time they wake up to the moment their head hits the pillow, and even as they sleep, someone is there taking care of them.  Our house parents play a crucial role in the lives of our boys.  They help them brush their teeth, make sure they are fed and do every day things like any parent.  They are there to pick them up when they fall and get hurt.  They keep them accountable with chores and school work.  They are there to love and show the boys that someone is consistently there for them.  In a country like India, finding a godly and loving house parent is very difficult.  Finding someone who loves Jesus and can care for our children is a top priority for us. We already have a wonderful group of staff members who work at CFI but we are looking for more people to join us.   We ask for your prayers in finding the right people who will come with willing hearts to serve Christ and the boys at CFI.  We are confident that God is already preparing hearts and we appreciate your prayers!

God Is At Work

According to UNICEF, “India has an estimated 31 million orphans.” According to the United Nations “2.1 million children die before reaching the age of 5 every year-four every minute.”  It is hard to wrap your mind around such numbers.  These staggering statistics can be discouraging and painful to think about.  India is a country where sex-trafficking, poverty and forced abortions are a normal everyday occurrence. What can we do for these people and children in need? CFI is a place where little lives are being transformed and renewed for Jesus. It is a light in a country where darkness reigns.  One life at a time is being impacted in a place where people are imprisoned emotionally, physically and spiritually. Though the numbers are grand and seem unsurmountable, it is each individual life that changes a land and people one by one.  It is people like you who have hearts for those in dark places.  You may not know, but you are making a difference.  In your prayers, your giving, and your commitment to love others like Jesus has first loved us.  Be encouraged friends…God is at work.

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

Giving Thanks

Hello friends!  Can you believe it’s already December? As this year quickly comes to an end, we want to reflect on what the Lord has done here at CFI and in the lives of those involved. We are so thankful for each and every one of you who continue to faithfully support us in various ways.  This ministry could not be sustained without your love, prayers and support.  Most of all we praise and thank God that He remains faithful and constant!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 107:1

God Continues to Amaze

"This was the Lord's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes" (Psalm 118:23). We rejoice as we can see these same words applied to all that is happening with the ministry of CFI. The Lord is the One who raised up this work. He is the One who provided the new ministry campus, the faithful workers, and the 177 precious boys who presently live there. He is the One who has touched the hearts of His people and, through their generous and sacrificial giving, has provided - not only for the daily needs of each child, but also for future and expanding potentials of ministry. Through this wonderful provision we see a tract of land with many buildings on it now, dedicated to God's glory; clean, fresh water in an area known for bitter; and a building process that continues to yield greater opportunities to significantly reach into India's children, churches, and communities.

We are incredibly grateful for the time given to personally engage in this ministry and especially to see the work first-hand. What a privilege to meet, hold and love these children and to witness what God is doing in their lives. Ministering in churches and villages (and many other varied opportunities) are always a profound experience. Your prayers are being answered! And your gifts are being used in such a special and eternal way!  You are encouraged to see all of this for yourself.

A New Year

It’s hard to believe that we have now started a new year, two thousand thirteen. This past year seemed to go by so quickly, but even though time flew by, thank God for much was accomplished at CFI in India.

All of our children and staff are very thankful to you, for your prayers and special gift for Christmas. They enjoyed the Christmas season very much which was a great testimony to the local community and others. Also thank you for your contribution toward the dental clinic that we are praying for. Funds are still coming and hope to dedicate this facility to the glory of God next month during our mission’s trip to CFI.

At CFI, children are literally being trained to be missionaries among their own people. There is no language problem, no culture shock, no food problems, and antibodies are already built up in the system to help fight off the diseases of India. Thank God for wonderful workers that He has sent at CFI. Last year 10 boys graduated from the technical school and we have 10 in training this year including one at Bible school.

Please continue to pray for all 177 children, 22 staff and the leadership. Pray with us for God’s protection, leading, provision and changing hearts on a daily basis.

Thank you for your continued support for CFI ministry. Through your help God is going to do some exciting new things at CFI this year. Please pray that this optimism will become a reality. May God bless your family into this New Year.
