As stated in our By-Laws, The Purpose of the Children's Fellowship of India is to operate a Christian ministry to meet the needs - spiritual and temporal - of children in India. While our mission certainly includes the development and strengthening of the Christian Church in India, we see this happening primarily through teaching the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ to the next generation of leaders in India - the children!
Early in 2002, we opened our orphanage in rented space with 29 boys and limited staff. We had purchased land in Naya Akola, in the central Indian state of Maharashtra. A well had been dug and electric poles were put in place to provide much needed utilities for a campus that is planned to ultimately house 250 orphaned children.
In November of 2002, we held a ground breaking ceremony for our Campus Center which is a multi-purpose auditorium that can be used for housing as well as activities while the rest of the buildings were being constructed. By the end of 2004, we had the campus center as well as three staff housing units and a guest house completed and in use. We are currently building a dormitory that will house up to 250 children. If our Lord provides the necessary funds, we hope to have our campus completed by the end of 2007.
We have other objectives as well. They include training as many as 100 young adult men and women for leadership in the Church. Secondly, we also plan to provide preschool or toddler housing for young boys.

Because of our dedicated staff in India, we are currently able to give care to 110 boys, and will be taking on many more in the months ahead. These boys receive daily instruction in God's Word as well as a quality education, a place to live and food to eat. We are greatly encouraged by what we see God doing.
Let me personally invite you to consider joining with us in whatever way God is leading you to be a part of this ministry. Our efforts would be greatly enhanced if you were able to join us in prayer, sponsoring a child (or children), going to India to see first hand what God is doing, or by inviting our Director Philip Dongre, to come to your church or small group to present the ministry of CFI.
Thank you for giving CFI a few moments of your time. If there is any way we can be of further assistance to you, please feel free to call on us.
